Theatrical dance in which a formal academic technique is combined with music, poetry, costume, and scenery. When these are combined and presented on the stage, you have the art of ballet. It is a highly disciplined stage art, based on a centuries-old tradition of movement. It is also the foundation of many other forms of dance, such as Hip Hop and Jazz. Ballet is a disciplined form of dance that instills poise, grace, body carriage, and flexibility. This class concentrates on techniques taught at the ballet barre, center floor, adagio, jumps and turns.
This class is an introduction to the essential requirements associated with pom-poms and cheer. Emphasis is placed on proper technique of precise movements, splits, and kicks as well as basic jazz footwork. Class placement is by age and ability.
Our competition team provides dancers with the opportunity to perform several times throughout the year at regional and national dance competitions. We try to instill in our competition team dancers that the fun and thrill of performing is more important than the award itself. We want them to dance, dance, dance . . . and enjoy every minute of it.
Contemporary dance encourages dancers to use their emotions and moods to design their own steps and routines. It is not unusual for contemporary dancers to invent new steps for their routines, instead of following a structured code of technique, as in ballet. Contemporary dance pulls technique from modern, ballet, lyrical, and jazz. Contemporary dancers deliberately use gravity. It isn’t unusual to see lots of floor work!
This class is for our youngest students. We will combine beginning ballet technique with lots of opportunity for creative expression. The focus of this class is improved motor skills, musicality, and confidence.. and fun!
This contemporary dance style combines jazz, funk, and house dance. It has its origins in the Bronx, in New York City, during the 1970s, mostly among African Americans, with some influence from the Latin American population of the area as well. The culture of hip-hop has gone from being a relatively underground style to being a major style throughout the world and has become incredibly popular in the United States.
Jazz originated from a blend of European and African traditional social dances, it assimilated into the American culture, with Ballet and Modern Dance contributing to its elegance. Jazz is a rhythmic, percussive dance form seen primarily in commercial venues such as Broadway shows, The Academy Awards, dance revues and music videos.
Lyrical dance is a dance style that blends ballet and jazz dance. Lyrical is generally smoother and a bit faster than ballet, but not quite as fast as jazz. A lyrical dancer uses movement to express strong emotions. Music used for lyrical is typically emotionally charged and expressive and may consist of many genres including pop, rock and hip hop. Movements in lyrical dance are characterized by fluidity and grace, with the dancer flowing seamlessly from one move to another, holding finishing steps as long as possible. Leaps are high and turns are fluid and continuous.

Pre-Professional Training (PPT) is a structured ballet program for more serious students who are looking to get the most out of their ballet training. PPT allows students to level up as they master ballet skills. This program is also excellent for those seeking to graduate to pointe.
A style of American theatrical dance using precise rhythmical patterns of foot movement and audible foot tapping. It is derived from the traditional clog dance of northern England, the jigs and reels of Ireland and Scotland, and possibly the rhythmic foot stamping of African dances. Tap is a form of dance where rhythmic and syncopated sounds are created by the feet. Tap dance teaches a sense of rhythm, timing, and precision as well as aerobic activity.
