Hi! I’m Barbara Frazier, and this is my sixth year teaching piano lessons at All That and Jazz! Music. Prior to that, I enjoyed teaching piano at home, and volunteering as an accompanist for several preschool and elementary school choruses. I’ve had a lifelong love of music, especially for classical piano music, and I love sharing it with others!
I’m a native Northern Virginian, with three grown children and two pets. My husband and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary.
In addition to following my passion for music, I also love science! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech), along with a minor in Spanish. Currently, I work as a Chemical Patent Examiner for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
As your student’s teacher, I strive to customize their learning experience by selecting a curriculum best suited to their learning age and style. In addition to introducing foundational music concepts, I also try to incorporate music they know and love, so that students stay motivated. My goal is to help each student develop a love of music that stays with them no matter where life takes them!
In my free time, I enjoy baking, solving number and logic puzzles, and eating chocolate – lots of chocolate!
I am excited to start the piano Group and Private classes with the wonderful students of All That & Jazz! I am an artistic and creative full of imagination teacher, tailoring programs for the student's specific desires and skills.
I was educated piano in 1975-1985 and speak and sing fluently in 4 Slavic languages. My mother is a teacher and I inherited this wonderful talent. I enjoy graciously teaching piano and theory of music as well as ensembles, vocal, solfeggio in any of these languages.
I’ve been volunteering and teaching piano to children and adults for more than 20 years in US and abroad, especially during COVID and online. I produced piano concerts and performances occasionally on various business forums. I have retired since 2020 and enjoy helping the local community with piano concerts, performances, education, and inspiration.
I will tell you many more stories of traveling the world and promoting the culture of piano while learning to play this beautiful instrument.
